Russian spammer found murdered - gangster style.
Roy it seems wowbb gets several of these losers a day and many lurking but foiled. Can you contact the WOWBB host admins to see if they can't put in some of the more sophisticated block and filters to knock these bozos out?

I have just deleted 52 spammers, a new record here. I think that I may have skipped a few days of checking out who has joined. Still, absolutely remarkable.
How do they make money from the spamming, Phil?

Basically these spammers get paid by their sponsor for every spamming post they make that gets picked up by search engines or visited by their special ID URL spam. The link they get paid to promote needs to be in the post or the signature line. To see what a mess they can do to a forum or blog if left unchecked take a look:

These jerks don't care if the NY Post readers visit the site. All they want is the Link to get referenced as many times as possible by Google and other search engines.

Roy, in the Wowbb Admin guid they show how to filter out the russian spammers using e-mail address:
10.2. Bans & Filters Banned IPs: Users having banned IPs are subject to the permissons of user group number 3 (banned users). Type one IP number per line. You can enter partial IP numbers. For example entering 192.168.0. will ban users having IP numbers 192.168.0.1-255. Please try to be as specific as possible since you could unintentionally ban innocent users. Banned E-mails: Users cannot use a banned e-mail address for registering. Type one e-mail address per line. You can enter partial e-mail addresses. For example entering yahoo.com will ban all users having a yahoo.com e-mail address. Please try to be as specific as possible since you could unintentionally ban innocent users.
You will want to filter e-mail using the ru suffix. That will filter out the majority of spammers and their bots.
