I am in the middle of reading an interesting boo, The Templars, by Read. Got it from Amazon, cheap.

I am going to be on a tear reading all that I can find that I think might be worthwhile. This one, The Templars, is worthwhile.

If you think you might want to read it, check out the first chapter. I have never read anything that is so well-summarized for this period. Got it all, right down to the Pharisees and the Sadducees and their major difference, the belief about life after death (P- yes, and S-no).

What I am trying to find is what is really known about the Templars following secret traditions from the Jewish Christians, departing from Catholic orthodoxy and following a teaching similar to Gurdjieff's, which is supposed to be derived from Judeo-Christian elements combined with Egyptian alchemy and Syrian Pythagorianism.

I want to take a look at all the other Christian traditions, the Maronite one, the Nestorians who traveld through Asia, Coptic Christianity and so on.

More later.

I taught Italian to two sisters, one of whom is married to a Freemason and he gave me a copy of The Hiram Key, by Knight and Lomas.

It traces the rituals of the Freemasons right back to Egypt, from which, by the way, we get the word "Amen", name of an Egyptian god.

They go through the whole temple thing, how the Hebrews recreated the temple in Egypt and so on.

But the bizarre rituals of the Freemaons!? A reconstruction of the death of a pharoah who was murdered because the Haiskos, the desert nomads or Hebrews who at that point ran the Northern Kingdom, wanted all the "magic" of immortality and to take over?

I have seen the book trashed, but I believe it is probably true.

What is particularly disgusting to read is how the Venetians sold war materials to the Muslims and how the Genoans sold slaves to them while the Templars and Norman knights were trying to hold back Islam's advance.

Merchant class pigs I want to say.
