Yes, I have no images, but a Happy New Year to all.

Some thoughts: how we celebrate the "return" of the light, its re-ascension, a mini-me of cosmic renewal, with the Evergreen Christmas Tree as the symbol of Nature, a pagan rite, but superimpose the manger with the Christ Child as the real fruit of this Cosmic Return, as the birth of every child is the birth of another Spirit-in-Matter, allowing mankind to continue on.

Yes, and Jesus Christ, the grown man represents, whether you are an orthodox Christian or a heterodox one such as I am, the full development of that Spirit-in-Matter aspect.

One thing that a heterodox Christian and an orthodox Christian would agree on besides the above would be the idea of those powers being fully developed, such that Jesus' will and the Divine's will would be the same.

The Sacred Heart of Jesus is the Catholic conception of a being so far beyond temptation, that temptation doesn't exist for that Sacred Heart anymore.

We all know we have weaknesses and that some negative things really don't tempt us at all.

I have nor urge to gamble, for example, and a lot of other vices are virtually overcome as well.

A certain kind of anger is still left in me. That is what I work on, and, hence, we make "New Year's Resolutions", taking advantage of this state of Cosmic Return to take on the challenges of our personal redemption in some way all over again.

Catholics go to church on New Year's Day, but not because of the New Year. No, we are stranger than that. We go to celebrate Jesus' briss, his circumcision, his becoming a Hebrew, officially.

I always thought that was a bit strange, but now I see it as "the beginning in the world".

Happy New Year, everyone. :)

Phil, my wife and daughter 'dig' one piece, I am still completely confused...

are you watching the english dub or Jap' language with english subtitles?

and Roy, just how did a small and obscure middle eastern cult grow to be the all powerful 'Christianity' that it is?

Nocturne,

It grew in the wake of the ancient world's impact on itself, on the many cultures having enormous contact with each other, facilitated by the trading and movement of people that the Roman Empire afforded its subjects.

That led to the universalist thinkers of Roman and Greek and Hebrew society to seek the underlying message to the myriad forms that these religions embodied.

It became possible only to believe in a "Catholic" religion, a word that means universal.

That is the outward explanation, but the inner explanation involves a coming to terms with that understanding we just talked about with a need to further brotherly love as a way to end the eternal strife between various groups within and outside of the Empire.

The Christians did the best job of representing this new worldview, and so they prevailed. Christian missionaries and thinkers understood this and were able to have Christianity serve as an overlay to pagan holidays such as Winter Solstice to allow a lot of continuity.

In England, along the fairy paths and the ley lines, you find ancient churches that were once pagan temples. You know thist because if you turn over that ancient altar's stone, you see that it was once a pagan altar dedicated to a member of a pagan pantheon.

Traditional Christians would take exception to what I had written, but the "Good News" of the Evangel is that we are all brothers and that Jews should treat each other (publicans and pharisees, sinners, etc.) well and go beyond that to treating even foreigners well (Samaritans), and well means unto others as you would have them do unto you.

If you believe traditional Christian theology or if you believe that Christ's story was Divinely organized to embody enough coincidence as theater of events to create a foothold in the collective psyche allowing the gradual emergence of this higher consciousness within us, doesn't make any difference in the end.

The birth of Western democratic republics was based on this emerging consciousness and the human rights which the American constitution recognizes.

The original japanese, with english subtitles added.  I am sure you've noticed Nami's breasts have been growing geometrically larger and her waist thinner through the episodes.  In her first episode she was almost flat-chested.  The bored animators probably say to themselves "I think I'll draw her boobs just a wee bit bigger this time..."  so by the time we get to episode xxx the accumulations have become huge! This may be an example of creative evolution towards the Omega Point, the strange attractor, at the end of time.  If so then the Omega Point has large breasts!  LOL

Man of taste Phil.

Is Nami on some kind of mammary-enhancing drug? Is it the effect of the crazy magnetic fields in the Grand Line? Are they two giant tumors? Did she eat a Devil Fruit when no one was looking?

Only the Japanese could produce a mind altering brain f**king crazy arse show, sort of like... David Lynch does does Disney...
