The Secular Materialistic Left-Wingers can have their brave new world. I'll live with the "savages."
I had a good conversation with my pastor during this week's home group meeting. He was describing the church of the middle term future, the trend we're on, how the Holy Spirit is moving people like it did in first century with whole communities of thousands forming very a chaotic church. I pointed out that Modernism is passing away and post-modernism becoming dominant. In the post-modern era with its extreme relativism it is not systems of thought that compete on the basis of logic and reason but primary direct experience that is the decisive factor. This fits perfectly with the pentecostal charismatic movement that delivers "hands-on" experience first and conversion later. My pastor confirms this is an advantage for the church and says that this will reproduce the first century church including the chaos and mayhem were Paul had to step into these mass churches composed of formerly pagan members and lay down the law declaring they had to have decency and order, stop sleeping with their step-mothers, stop having ecstatic love orgies, etc... This is the way it shall be and it is good but it will be crazy.
Anyhow with this 21st century swing back to first century Christianity on the one hand and the Empire swinging to Brave New World on the other, it is easy to see who will get the label "savages" LOL!!!

Joachim di Fiore's Third Age, the Age of the Spirit, the successor to the Age of the Father, and the Age of the Son, has us in direct contact with the Spirit and the need for churches, the institutions, at least, dies away.
He was the model for the monk in In the Name of the Rose.
