Got a little moped . . . 80-90 MPG . . . $3 fill up . . . Goes 40mph, no need for a motorcycle lisence.

best yet looks industrial and quite manly.

I believe Xena had one of these long ago . . . when they came out in 03 . . .

Yeah, *Phil* speaks for me about mopeds. Been there, survived, got the tee-shirt. When I was a teenager, I drove one by necessity,  I had people deliberately try to run me off the road in contempt (knowing that I could not pursue them, being too slow).

The only real problem with the moped is that it is so slow, relative to other traffic, that you must must must always bear to the far right - like a bicycle. I nearly bought it once, when I was whizzing along at 37 MPH next to a line of parked cars, and some guy in a parked semi-tractor opened his driver's side door all the way- right about my head-level. Had I not ducked and swerved in time, I might have been decapitated. A motorcycle would be more appropriate, since they get similar great mileage and can actually keep up with traffic or get out of the way by speeding up once in awhile if necessary.

A motor bike that is at least 500 lbs. with you on it,  but which is not too heavy to pick up by yourself if it goes down, is about right.  I need to be able to go at least 55 mph. minimum in any motor vehicle. That's just me.

Corvus is a braver man that I. I suggest that he carry a .357 to shoot at any smart ass that tries to run him off the road. Just squeeze off a couple of shots at the tires or the rear windshield. With any luck, God will guide your aim to snuff  the driver.

Ive been considering buying a motorcycle for some time. I often dreamed about it in my sleep as an embodyment of freedom. I still plan on buying a motorcycle but only when it is more practical for me. A little bit of sync here: as I replied to this thread a little moped zoomed by on the road.

With the cost of gasoline rapidly approaching that of platinum, the Originator of the topic (Corvus-Who-Is-Sitting-Pretty) is looking like a Prophet right about now.

I still caution him to watch for vindictive motorists who have a hate-on for mopeds. Well met, Mandrake!!

Since Corvus has become the Prophet then my posts here in this forum are nothing, shit, worthy of contempt and lower than dirt.   I've deleted as many of my worthless pornographic, paranoid, sinful, doom saying, end of the western world, bad music, lousy videos, rotten cartoons etc. etc. - as Nocturne and Corvus has repeated over and over that are crap -  as I can.   Corvus and Nocturne can resume filling the forum with their wisdom, humor, art, beauty and economic prophesy without my garbage contaminating things and distracting them from posting original content.  Ahh it feels good to clean out the old junk.

Ouch. What a monstrous misunderstanding. I seem to be mostly to blame for this, administering the straw that broke the camel's back.

Last time I checked Nocturne sort of appologised for any sense of attacking you.

I cannot speak for Corvus, who has attacked everybody, including Nocturne from time-to-time, or rather, their views.

I hope that you saved your posts. I will gladly pay you to reinstate them, although I can scarcely afford it.

This is a schizm to rival the epoch sundering of the West in Tokein's Simmarillion.

I suppose that refernce will get an angery poke from my brother Helgi, who does not seem to like that distillation of Beowulf.

I know I speak for all the others, ( except, perhaps for Corvus) when I say that we are collectively very sorry.

Self-mutiliation is not out of the question to demonstrate sincerity. Not now that things are finally moving forward for the Grove so well. How about $100 just to start posting again, and $10 for each deleted post that you can reinstate.

I am waiting for Corvus the Prophet.   He treats this forum like the TV - the Grove channel - for his entertainment, yet saying nothing except for time to time throwing rotten vegetable if he is not amused.  He never gives applause, never says that is good.  To heck with that!  We seem to be his actors,  he sits in the darkness silent,  but if we do not perform to his liking then out of the dark comes flying a rotten tomato.   Well, I had enough of that treatment, this season of *phil* show is over and I've swept the stage clean of my props and acts.   Now the Great and Mighty Corvus can take the stage (if he will get off his lazy ass and do the work),  dance, write literature, play music, show movies, tell jokes, analyze the news, and I will do, like he does to me,  silently view his acts , if I feel compelled to reply then I'll be sure to let everyone know what a bother it is,  and I've got my sack of rotting vegetables at hand to let him know, using his style of simple one-liner toss, when he is not entertaining me.

This thread "Ruckus"  I'm not going to say anything about it other than, *sigh* what a bother replying to this thread, Xena already got one and we discussed it last year at the lifegoat, which may mean I like this post but then again maybe I'm indifferent and he wasted his time.

Here is the video my spies took of the evil Corvus snatching candy from a baby roo.

Notice his hallmark hit and run style.

Well dear Phil . . . I assumed you and I were always on Joking terms, and the "Men" of this forum could handle a little squawking.

Apparently not . . . I would much rather leave this place than have Phil pan his exodus off on me . . .

I have not been around these parts because my Grandmother of 91 unexpectedly* bit the dust . . . and I have been helping my father (an only child) handle her affairs.  Further more, her death has enabled me to purchase a house.  I have been busy.

(It was a terrible thing one day carrying on like a 60 year old, the next . . . blood spewing from her mouth as her lungs filled with fluid)

I would like Phil to explain why he is so hurt . . .

Just because I state I am sick of reading liberal bashing posts, or poke fun of his obvious obsession with Gold . . .

Come on Phil . . . I don't "buy" it . . . nor am I going to apologize for anything I've said here.

I am indeed a prophet and saw this breakdown coming many "back buttons" ago.

He never gives applause, never says that is good.

I don't think this is true . . . though I am never one to talk about what is "good" because that's a waste of energy.  I wouldn't stick around here if I didn't think all of you/us were "good" . . . I choose my TV programs carefully . . . and never commend "good" performances, because this gives skilled actors big heads.  And everyone here has a head larger than most.

In all . . . I will accept your anger towards me . . . as this is a necessary result of my existence anywhere . . . I'm just a catalyst, you/we/us create the bi-product.  Strange we all met on a Jung forum.

And why in the hell did you drag Nocturne into this . . . just because he's a fence sitter of sorts like myself.

If you want praise Phil . . . destroy your Golden Calf and ditch the fears.

I have always been a Pandora/Roy . . . why do you think these are the two "persona's" I have always perched on.  I may not be as wise . . . or hold the same viewpoints, but it's apart of my makeup.  I will not apologise for who I am . . . nor would I want you to change who you are Phil.  I simply want to voice my opinion.

I have been right so many times in my life . . .

"You ask me if I have a God complex? Let me tell you something: I am God." :D

and in the end . . . it does feel good to have such control doesn't it Phil . . . to toss the gold pan into the stream, give up the claim . . . and put the stake into someone's heart.  Been there done that . . . and will do it again. :D

OK, OK, guys. Let's make it less about the personalities and more about the issues.

Really, everyone here is pretty much a good person and we ought to be at least polite.

For example, instead of attacking the person or the point with much fanfare, we could interview each other and find out why that person thinks that or values something the way he does.

I would like to know what really gets to Corvus about Phil's position about money and gold. My own position is not all that different than Phil's. I am older than Corvus and have had time to get over my unpleasant shock that the sixties are over and that making a living is now much more difficult than it was then.

So, it is as if my father's f-ing position about money has been validated. But, if he had left me alone, I would have made money doing what I wanted. So, he has to set me up to "make his point". Then he went crying to his closest friend about how he had failed me as a father. And he had.

Now, if we really see that we are talking to someone we are not going to agree with, perhaps we should do as I had the sense to do the other day.

I was talking to a man I work yesterday. He prefers Michael Savage to Rush, and thinks Rush is a buffoon and that Savage's command of history makes the day. I think that his take on this is a bit surprising.

Now, I was not about to critique his critique. I simply listened because I knew and know that I am going to learn about what makes that man tick and probably, even given his eccentric nature, what a lot of people might think.

So, let us try that approach. I would really like to know if any of us have major feelings of guilt about money and the desire for material things.

I know I do.

Roy

G*D*MN*T ROY, YOU VERBOSE SON-OF-A-B*TCH, if you don't establish a Peace Pit or a Mellow Yellow Meadow, or some such sh*t right away, I'll drive up  or down to wherever you are and KILL YOU IN YOUR SLEEP!!! And I will kill your pets too, although I will leave your relatives relatively untouched. I'm capricious that way. I am a Mystery wrapped in an Enima!!
