Understanding stem cell function may lead to ways to suppress cancer. Good article.

Is it wrong of me to not really care about my own personal "life extension" . . . when I die, I die . . . life is good, but not that good.

It is wrong.

You have family, a 'better half', this forum, hell even me, all need you to be around for a long time. Life is at times not that good, but it sure as hell is better with you in it!

Live long and prosper, all of us.

The point of life extension is not to extend life per se, but to extend your capacity and avoid senescence.

When experimental animals are given substances such as BHT, cysteine, DMAE, RNA, pantothenic acid (Vit B5), L-Dopa, the animals run around their cages as if still middle-aged and then die without gaining weight or losing it.

When they are given DHEA in particular, they remain in good health to the end in much higher numbers than usual.

Resigning yourself to sensescence and an early death is to not avail yourself of the opportunity to keep that "youth" which all too often is "wasted on the young" because all we seem to know what to do with it at times is exploit its energy as a form of intoxication.

Meanwhile one of Castaneda's Don Juan's points is that by the time we grasp that the universe is a place of intent, we are too old to do anything about it, so we become bitter.

Get it. Keeping yourself health is the best way to avail yourself of the possibilities of spiritual growth and is spiritual necessity, not a vanity.

Why do you think you are here, anyway?
