Hi Nocturne. I've felt your pain regarding mother-daughter fights. You have my sympathies. My daughter is 14 now. Not as many fights than they had a year or two ago. There are very few "perfect" kids and those one can wonder if it is merely apparent perfection, a mask over something. A few weeks ago I got a psychology book about teen girls so I might gain some professional insight. My daughter took it and read the whole thing herself then read whole chapters out loud to me.

I have a list of regrets. Choosing to have only one child is high on the list. Of course we have no idea where the path not taken would have led us. Now I think stopping after having four or five would have been best. I imagine two boys and three girls to be awesome. But even just one more would have been good because kids need siblings for their own psychology, so they can recognize themselves in the family structure. At the time we really wanted to have one good quality one. We've got that and count our blessings. Now we're too old I think, the medical risks to wife and fetus would be great, and we've moved on.
