The intelligentsia of today and those who study them is reflected in the opinions expressed in the left leaning forums we've all participated in at one time or another. If I should write a book about it the salient quote here would be:

Ahmadinejad's denial that the Holocaust ever happened is curiously symbolic. It was after WWII and the Holocaust that the world-wide process of reconciliation between the Christians and the Jews began and has made great headway since. We can say that because of the Holocaust reconciliation began. There was no corresponding reconciliation between the Muslims and Jews. It is as if the Holocaust never happened. Disturbing to ponder. I hesitate eschatological thinking here but it is suggestive. In any case it would be a moral crime to permit a second Holocaust. Left-winger intellectuals inability to make sound moral arguments does not guarantee moral withstanding unless we are prepared with sharpened moral reasoning and argumentation.
