And anyone who seriously threatens me or one of my loved ones with violence will find that I do not wait until there is no possible doubt that they are coming after us. They will be dealt with in such a way as to leave me and mine free of their threat and hopefully, any legal repercussions. And yes, I admit that ultimately, I don't give a rat's rear end about "the law". Morality trumps legality, in my mind. Anything less is cowardice or shirking of moral duty.

Admittedly, it is a debateable area, but I like to think that I come down on the more moral side of that argument
.

In the preceeding post, CW made a decent enough point about WWII with the added flourish of what seemed to be a genuine experience to embellish it.

Yet, I somehow can hear Corvus laughing from wherever he is ( seriously- hope you are well, fool-o'mine! You are our Marx Lee from JPF alert : inside joke

Parts of that above quoted statement from Severian were ambiguous. I ( Thecla-Edit) recognised that it was subject to misinterpretation. (sigh). Severian has been dismissed. All respect to law enforcement.  In a special circumstance, Severian might not give a rat's *ss about the law as a first priority, but every other time you betchyer *ss  he would.  "All respect to the rule of law and it's enforcement!"  is Severian's motto - I (Thecla) can attest.

Technical issue aside, we heartily agree that the reason it's a good idea to outlaw vigilantism ibacause of the gray area of "perception of guilt". It is widely variant in the magnitude of the rational or analytical rigor. Bad decisions can be made about certain things, but breaking murder laws is not one to be made casually. If the average person could distinguish fair and equittable punishment, like a summary court martial, with clear and effective analysis, then instant justice might be alright. But even the best of us (in terms of training or intellect) may, in the heat of emotion, fail to recognise critical data. Pondering is often useful in revealing the truth of things and their meaning to you personally. Things are sometimes not what they appear on the surface - hence the need for legitimate detective work in serious matters of grievous injury. I include myself as inadequate to acess 99% of such cases I might see. But that quantum flaw...Even the Native Americans pondered before the passed harsh judgement and the lunatics believed that spirits were watching.

Lot's 'o words to describe a simple thing : most laws make sense, and that is why they should be followed. But in some sectors, law is created by whomever is present within the borders of enforcement ..even be they four walls or the dome of night...gray areas is where progress and horror hide together, one shrinking from the light, the other seeking to deliver revelation...

Please Note : Severian will be absent from Psycho Station at this terminal due to engagement matters. The military variety, not ahhh you know...in his absence Thecla will be posting and in fact, already is. Hiya folks!  Frankly, Severian's acidic invective will not be missed. We've gotten a lot of complaints from his own relatives...poor dear is overworked and underpaid...ahhh scr*w him, he's been cranky... barely civilized on his best day. Who are we kiddin' ?  A burlap sack, some smellin' salts, a little twine and Sev's headin' fer the desert 'n the final roundup podna'...Some vacations are forced upon us, eh veck?

This is not an isolated incident.  This is mainstream Muslims and Imams. We can not defeat this enemy the way things are now. We must change ourselves and adapt.

Dry blamed on 'faithless Aussies'

Article from: Sunday Herald Sun

A LEADING Muslim cleric has blamed the drought, climate change and pollution on Australians' lack of faith in Allah.

Radical sheik Mohammed Omran told followers at his Brunswick mosque that out-of-control secular scientific values had caused environmental disaster.
"The fear of Allah is not there. So we have now a polluted earth, a polluted water, a wasteland," he told a meeting this year.

"What are the people now crying for? The prophet told you hundreds of years ago, 'Look after the water'."

A Sunday Herald Sun investigation also found clerics railing against "evil" democracy, vilifying Jews and Christians and encouraging jihad and polygamy.

And in a popular DVD selling locally, a foreign sheik exhorts Muslims to take control of Australia by out-breeding non-believers.

British-based Sheik Abdul Raheem Green forbade Muslims from having fewer than four children so Australia would become an Islamic state.

Behind the closed doors of some Melbourne mosques and bookshops, sheiks push for Sharia law, declare Islam at war with the "sick" West and gloat that September 11 boosted Muslim numbers.

At a Muslim information centre in Coburg, extreme literature shares shelves with DVDs by firebrand sheiks from around the globe. The centre, run by Abu Hamza, serves Muslims in the northern suburbs.

Many CDs and DVDs there feature London sheik Abdul Raheem Green, who is on an Australian Government watchlist. On one he tells his audience to Islamise Australia through a Muslim baby boom.

"The birth rate in the Western countries is going down. People are more interested in their careers . . . they don't want to have babies," Sheik Green says in one DVD.

"So don't you think, Muslim brothers and sisters, we've got a bit of an opportunity here? They're not having babies any more. So what if, instead, we have the babies?

"In Canada one in three or one in four children being born is a Muslim. What does that do to the demographic shift of a Muslim population in 20 years' time?

"To say I'm going to have two or three children and that's it -- that's not allowed. The way we overcome the people is through our numbers."

The Sunday Herald Sun stepped into the hidden world of Melbourne's mosques to hear what was being preached. At last Friday's "khutbar" lesson, Sheik Omran told 150 followers Australia was not a proper democracy as there was no freedom of speech or choice for Muslims.

He said only a third of the local Islamic community were real Muslims trying "to change Australia, to make it act better according to God".

At Preston mosque the imam, believed to be Mohammad Aboueid, told followers to put prayer above the paying of taxes and that Islam would prevail over all other religions.

Islamic Council of Victoria spokesman Waleed Aly said he was disappointed though not surprised by the Sunday Herald Sun's discoveries.

But he said extremist speech and literature was confined to only a couple of Melbourne groups.

"If I walked into (Omran's group) or (Hamza's centre) it wouldn't surprise me," he said.

Mr Aly said he believed Muslims were radicalised by "cult-like peer groups", not hate literature.
